Join us to pioneer user experience insights, shaping products that resonate with customers and end users. Foster a culture of continuous learning as you mentor and coach junior researchers and designers and bring your thought leadership and expertise to the team.As an Experience Research Vice President in Cybersecurity Technology and Controls (CTC), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across our products and services. Leveraging your deep expertise in research methods and user experience design, develop and execute research strategies to uncover valuable insights into the wants, needs, and abilities of our customers and end users. Your work will provide the foundation used to inform effective product and service designs across the firm. Apply your advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods to critically analyze the effectiveness of our existing and future designs as you collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
Job responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive research studies to identify customer needs, preferences, and behaviors to foster product and process improvements and innovation
- Translate complex cybersecurity and technology controls domains into clear, rigorous research plans, leading execution end-to-end to deliver actionable insights that shape strategy and design
- Analyze data using advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, translating findings into recommendations that enhance user experience
- Plan and facilitate user interviews, surveys, and testing scenarios to validate and refine products and features
- Develop holistic journey maps and service blueprints across the CTC ecosystem, capturing diverse user needs and product interdependencies to guide cross-team strategy, prioritization, and design decisions
- Champion AI-augmented user research workflows (where appropriate), demonstrating hands-on engagement with AI tooling
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in user experience research methodologies and incorporate innovative techniques to maintain a competitive edge in the market
- Mentor and guide junior researchers and designers and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the user experience design team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in generative and evaluative user experience research
- Proven ability to create complex, non-linear journey maps or service blueprints across multiple products and stakeholder groups, capturing diverse user needs within a technical domain
- Demonstrated capability to develop a holistic understanding of complex, process-driven technical ecosystems, including how products interrelate and operate together end-to-end
- Expert-level mixed-methods research capability, applying qualitative and quantitative techniques-such as usability testing, interviews, ethnography, diary studies, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, and advanced data analysis- to produce rigorous insights that directly improve UX and product decisions
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, product managers, and developers, to propel customer-centric decision-making and inform product prioritization
- Experience in designing high-quality research studies with an iterative mindset, with an ability to adapt study parameters to accommodate changing product design needs
- Strong storytelling and stakeholder influence, with the ability to drive alignment and navigate ambiguity in fast-moving environments
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience researching enterprise, regulated, or risk-centric domains, including cybersecurity, resiliency, or technology controls (e.g., security operations, identity and access management, controls testing, governance, incident response)
- Hands-on prototyping skills using industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, VS Code with Copilot, Claude Code or similar)
- Demonstrated engagement with AI tooling to enhance user research workflows to improve speed, quality, scalability, and user-centric decision-making
