Description
The Role
This is a mixed paediatric and adult NDIS Occupational Therapist role. We welcome applications from new graduate and experienced Occupational Therapists.
You will provide assessment, intervention and report-writing support for children and adult NDIS participants across home, school, kindy, clinic and community settings.
The paediatric caseload will mainly involve children aged 3–12 years, with a small number of adolescent clients. Paediatric intervention may include support with emotional regulation, fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care, routines, play, school participation and social participation.
The adult caseload may involve functional assessment, daily living skills intervention, capacity-building support, community participation, environmental assessment, assistive technology recommendations and report writing.
Caseload composition will be discussed according to your clinical experience, interests, demonstrated competence and supervision needs. For early-career clinicians, adult assessment complexity and report-writing responsibilities will be introduced progressively with appropriate supervision and clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions for paediatric and adult NDIS participants.
Develop practical, meaningful and functional goals with children, caregivers, adult participants and their support networks.
Provide intervention in areas including self-care, daily living skills, home routines, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, handwriting, independence, community access and capacity building.
Conduct sessions in home, school, kindy, clinic and community settings according to participant needs.
Complete occupational therapy assessments, intervention plans, functional capacity assessments and reports within your scope of competence.
Collaborate professionally with families, educators, support coordinators, plan managers, accommodation providers, community organisations, medical professionals and other allied health practitioners to support participant goals and service delivery.
Support adult referral coordination, information gathering, service planning and ongoing occupational therapy intervention through effective stakeholder communication.
Maintain timely and high-quality clinical notes, reports and participant documentation.
Participate in supervision, case discussions, professional development and team meetings.
Support and Work Environment
Therapy That Helps Pty Ltd provides a structured and supportive work environment for both new graduate and experienced clinicians.
You will receive structured onboarding and shadowing on commencement, regular individual supervision with a senior Occupational Therapist, and additional in-field clinical support based on your experience and caseload needs.
You will have opportunities to develop capability across both paediatric and adult community occupational therapy practice. Strong administrative support is available for scheduling, rescheduling, reminders, invoicing, document collection and client communication.
This is a hybrid, community-based role. Our clinic rooms in Forde are available for clinic-based appointments, supervision, team meetings and shared clinical activities.
As much of the role is delivered across home, school, kindy and community settings, non-client-facing work is generally completed remotely. Clinicians are encouraged to work from home for planning, clinical notes, report writing, telehealth and other administrative responsibilities, where appropriate.
We provide access to therapy resources, assessment tools and work devices. Regular supervision, case discussions and team communication are maintained to support clinical quality, professional development and connection across the team.
Remuneration and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $80,000–$125,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on the clinician’s experience, demonstrated capability, clinical scope and report-writing responsibilities.
Work-related travel will be reimbursed at $0.99 per kilometre.
Eligible employees may also receive an end-of-year discretionary performance bonus. Any bonus is not guaranteed and will be determined with reference to overall business performance, individual contribution and role performance.
