WCS is accepting application for the following non-instructional position: ANTICIPATED VACANCY POSITION SCHOOL DISTRICT TREASURER Full-time, 12-month position, and Civil Service Exempt Class (Candidates must meet civil service qualifications) This is an annual appointment, starting 10/1/2025 or earliest opportunity. Salary: $40,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience. Application Deadline: Position open until filled. The School District Treasurer is responsible for overseeing and safeguarding the financial operations of the district. This position ensures proper accounting of all funds, accurate recordkeeping, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Duties include managing receipts, deposits, and disbursements; preparing monthly and annual financial reports; reconciling bank statements; and monitoring budgetary accounts. The Treasurer maintains detailed ledgers, tracks investments, and ensures payroll and vendor payments are processed correctly. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with auditors, administrators, and the Board of Education to provide transparent financial information. The Treasurer also prepares documents for board meetings, assists with budget development, and helps forecast financial needs for the district. Confidentiality, integrity, and fiscal responsibility are essential. The School District Treasurer plays a critical role in maintaining the financial stability and accountability of the districts operations.
