Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Posted On: Wed Apr 16 2025 Job Description:The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany's Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Research Scientist position in PDP's Evaluation Unit. This position is located in Albany, NY with the possibility of remote work following an in-office orientation period.
Description of Duties:
The Research Scientist is responsible for assisting with the designing and administering of research projects and evaluating data for education and training programs related to New York State social services initiatives and other workforce development initiatives. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- The design, development, pretest, and administration of survey and data collection instruments.
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis, literature reviews, and maintaining survey software tools, including Qualtrics, and preparing reports.
- Presenting findings at meetings and conferences and facilitating focus groups and meetings, some of which will be in-person throughout New York State.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Two to three years of experience in evaluation and research of training and educational programs including strong competence in survey design and implementation.
- Demonstrated excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience conducting analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, and research using tools such as SPSS, Stata, Tableau, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, and other applicable software and report writing programs.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point and virtual conference applications including Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to travel periodically throughout New York State, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise using the Qualtrics platform for creating surveys and analyzing results.
- Experience with early childhood education, particularly the Pyramid Model in child care.
- Research field experience in collecting qualitative and quantitative data from families and/or providers of services.
Additional Information:
Salary Range : $70,000 - $72,500
