Description
Position Title: Product Assembler (Level 3)Department Location: Operations
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Employees Supervised: None
Interrelationships: Internal -production staff
FLSA Classification: Hourly - non-exempt
Employee Classification: Regular, full or part-time
Position Summary:
Lead person on the manufacturing of fixtures, signage, displays and other products that
FCI designs and produces. Finished work is completed on time and meets FCI safety
and quality standards. May work on more complicated or larger assembly projects.
Assumes more of a lead role in resolving production, quality and/or safety issues. Lead
installer on certain on-site installations.
Position Duties:
Essential Job Functions:
1. Building/assembling (85%): Utilizes advanced knowledge of all tools and
equipment to build/assemble more advanced, complicated or larger fixtures; and/or
utilizes knowledge and experience to enhance efficiency of assembly/build
processes. Proficient in resolving production challenges. Models all quality and
safety standards. May mentor or counsel others on proper quality, safety or
compliance actions. Leads co-workers with first aid kit use for emergencies and
enforces MSD Compliance Safety rules. Maintains and repairs tools and machinery;
ensures warehouse housekeeping guidelines are followed.
2. Packing and Shipping (10%): Follows proper packing and shipping instructions
and policies. Understands documentation requirements and follows appropriate
routing and filing of all paperwork, such as packing slips and error omission forms.
Responsible for packing and shipping product with correct equipment and paperwork
to ensure satisfactory delivery to customer. Follows shipping and receiving
procedures. Takes a lead role in crate-building, packing, loading, shipping,
receiving, and clean-up after project completion.
3. Housekeeping (5%): Responsible for maintaining shop cleanliness. Sweep and
organize personal area at the end of each day. Put all tools away after use. Clean
and clear machinery after use. Empty any full trash cans. Place usable scraps in
designated bins
Qualifications:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience: Three years of basic mechanical assembly experience. Hands-on
experience operating basic hand power tools. A familiarity with quality and safety
controls on machinery. Expanded product knowledge of FCI catalog items. Can
read renderings and design fabrications.
3. Expected Capabilities: Meets or exceed the Level 3 job skill checklist as defined
by production manager.
4. Computer/Software and Office Equipment Skills: No specific skills identified.
Personal Attributes Required:
Ability to work independently and in a team. Demonstrated leadership and
organizational skills. Attention to detail. Can read and follow CAD drawings and written
procedures/instructions.
Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements:
1. Work requires frequent bending, lifting, and reaching. Fine manual
dexterity is needed to assemble parts and components.
2. Work is performed in an environment with noise, fumes and periodic
exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.
3. Need to occasionally move and handle loads of up to 50 lbs.
Specific Accountabilities:

and experience to enhance efficiency of assembly/build processes.
A2: Proficient in solving production challenges, understanding drawings and
renderings, and efficient in labor/design timelines.
A3: Leader and enforcer of quality standards and safety controls of equipment,
production and services. May mentor or counsel others on proper quality,
safety or compliance actions. Leads co-workers with first aid kit use for
emergencies and enforces MSD Compliance Safety rules.
A4: Maintains and repairs tools and machinery; ensures warehouse
housekeeping guidelines are followed.
B1: Follows proper packing and shipping instructions and policies.

B2: Responsible for packing and shipping product with correct equipment and

C1: Assumes a lead role on major projects, such as large roll-outs, trade
shows, installs, etc.
C2: Professionally represent FCI with on-site installations as a lead installer at
key accounts or major installs; interact with customer.
