Description
Are you a technical visionary and an expert in AI/ML infrastructure? Do you have the drive to define the next generation of server systems from concept to implementation? Celestica is looking for a Principal Engineer, AI/ML Server System Architect to join our team.
This is a leadership role for a hands-on engineer. You'll be the primary architect for our cutting-edge AI systems, leading new technology research and guiding a multi-disciplined global team. Your work will directly shape our products and strategy in the most dynamic and exciting space in technology.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
As a Principal Engineer, you will be the core of our AI/ML infrastructure team. Your key responsibilities include:
- Define System Architecture: Lead the architectural definition of competitive AI systems. You will provide effective trade-off analysis and technical guidance to both our engineering teams and our customers.
- Act as a Global SME: Serve as the go-to technical expert for AI/ML server systems. You'll be the primary technical interface with our customers, leading discussions on product roadmaps, technical advances, and potential escalations.
- Drive Innovation: Lead new technology research and study market trends to ensure our solutions remain at the forefront. You'll also champion process improvement efforts and participate in industry standards committees.
- Lead a Multi-Disciplined Team: You'll lead and guide a team of engineers to bring complex AI/ML infrastructure platforms to life, ensuring overall design quality and a successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launch.
- Support Business Growth: Provide critical technical support to our business development teams, helping to win new business by creating and presenting compelling technical proposals.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills We're Looking For
We're looking for an accomplished engineer with a deep knowledge of AI systems and a proven ability to lead. The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep Technical Expertise: You have a minimum of 10 years of server and/or AI/ML accelerator hardware design experience. You have extensive knowledge of system-level power, cooling, mechanical, SW/FW, and electrical design integration.
- Hands-on Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of AI Infrastructure system design experience. You have worked with Nvidia, AMD, and/or Intel GPU accelerators and have a strong understanding of AI training and inference workloads.
- Leadership & Communication: You are a proven architect with a successful track record of bringing server/storage/converged products to market. You have excellent customer presentation skills and can effectively manage relationships with key vendors and partners.
- Education: A BS in Electrical Engineering is required; an MSEE is preferred.
Typical Experience
- 7 to 10 years of related experience; Experience in similar job roles
Travel
- International travel required, approximately 4-6 trips per year.
- Domestic travel to support customer and internal meetings as required.

Salary
- $166,000 - 228,000 USD/year
