Description
OverviewGeneral Purpose:Provide lessons for residents and outside guests, facilitate local programming. Will manage all Pickleball programming, including instruction, that will operate under Troon golf's customer service standards.Essential Duties:¨ Supervises all pickleball play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment. ¨ Initiates, directs and promotes Pickleball clinics, special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members' pickleball interests. ¨ Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players. ¨ Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors. ¨ Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property. ¨ Works cooperatively with other departments & Head Tennis Professional to develop combined programs for the membership. ¨ Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the Maintenance Manager. ¨ Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons. ¨ If applicable, responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. ¨ Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Pickleball Instructors, Pickleball Merchandise/Administrative Clerks, Court Maintenance personnel. ¨ If applicable, assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs. ¨ Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses. ¨ Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction. ¨ Regular and reliable attendance. ¨ Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. ¨ Teach lessons to Residents. ¨ Establish a Junior Program. ¨ Report to General Manager but work with appropriate committee to assure resident satisfaction. ¨ Responsible for maintaining accurate and positive financial results of Racquet Sports, Pickleball.Education/Experience:3-5 years related experience as a Head Pickleball Professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands:Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.Environment/Noise:Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.Certificates/Licenses:CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification (Pickleball), Member of a Certified Professional Pickleball Association (USPTA,PPR).Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:¨ Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). ¨ Possess U.S.T.A. rating of 4.5 or better preferred.This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an associate in this position may be asked to perform from time to time
Experience Required
