About the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs (OVPIA)The Vice President for International Affairs and the teams of staff in OVPIA's offices are the stewards of international activity across all campuses of Indiana University. We provide strategic leadership and advocacy for all international programs and projects and coordinate the resources necessary to sustain their growth. Job Summary
The Website Specialist for the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs (OVPIA) will work within the central Marketing and Communications team to help maintain the online presence for IU Global units.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Supports the management of IU Global-affiliated websites using a web content management system.
- Monitors and improves UI, UX, accessibility standards, and front-end best practices.
- Communicates regularly with clients relating to requests and projects.
- Provides research and guidance to help the web team achieve successful implementation of goals for each project.
- Participates in meetings related to assigned projects.
- Continually work with campus and office stakeholders to define needs and requirements through email, meetings, and informal conversations.
- Presented with varying issues that they must investigate, test, and research to develop sound solutions that work for multiple purposes.
- Presented with varying requests and must consider multiple sources and protocols to determine the best implementation methods.
- Develops a strong understanding of best practices that relate to ADA/ WCAG compliance for websites.
- Takes information for the web and determine the best layouts and presentation for positive user experiences and understanding.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University on either the Bloomington or Indianapolis Campus
Preferred
- Experience within the context of web, digital accessibility, digital content management, or UX design/ research
Required
- Proficient communication skills
- Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
- Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and balance shifting priorities
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Cascade Server)
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position is potentially eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised Salary
$16.00 per hour
Work Hours
8-12 hours per week, dependent upon the business needs of the department.
