Description
Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (MSLD) serves as a go-to resource for undergraduate students seeking personal encouragement, career support, leadership development, academic advice, and more. Indiana University's (IU) Office of Student Life administers MSLD to support all IU Bloomington (IUB) students throughout their academic journey and beyond.Job Summary
The Program Outreach Support Leader (POSL) supports the Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence Mentoring Program (FASE) by managing logistics and visual/digital communications, including social media, promotional materials, event platforms, and branding aligned with MSLD and IU guidelines. The POSL reports to the Executive Director of MSLD and also assists MSLD and FASE staff as needed, including peer mentors, Mentor Apprenticeship Program (MAP) Coordinators, Master of Social Work (MSW) Intern, Graduate Mentoring Coordinator, and the administrative coordinator. Training and supervision are provided by the Executive Director and team, with additional support from faculty and professional staff.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Assist FASE personnel with planning and developing in-person events to promote program outreach and student engagement (e.g. MAP leadership series)
- Provide marketing support using existing MSLD/FASE social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Enhance social media presence of planned MSLD/FASE programming
- Utilize Canvas to support MSLD/FASE communication and messaging directed towards program's participants
- Attend 2-3 MSLD/FASE events
- Add MSLD logo and follow IU brand standards
- Post events and content on beINvolved
- Create IU Digital Screen graphics
- Email graphics to advisors for newsletters and screen display
- Meet with MSLD executive director, Administrative Generalist Coordinator, or Graduate Assistant (GA) for updates on tasks
- Perform other duties as directed by FASE director in support of MSLD mentoring staff, including filing, copying, scheduling meetings, mailing, etc.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
- Junior or senior in class standing
- 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
Required
- Ability to be self-motivated, organized, and responsible
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suites computer applications
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience with program planning, Canvas, and social media platforms

Advertised Salary
$12.00 per hour
Work Hours
Up to 10 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on availability and business need.
