Position: Overnight ICU & Inpatient Hospitalist
Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Overnight Veterinary Hospitalist to join our growing team! This role primarily involves managing inpatient cases for both our Emergency and Specialty departments, while also supporting incoming ER cases during your shift as needed.

We will be opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art second location in late 2025. Located just three miles from our current facility, the new 45,000-square-foot hospital will feature:
35 exam rooms
9 surgery suites
Expansive treatment areas
Integrated Oncology Service
Client-facing pharmacy
Advanced diagnostic imaging, including:
MRI
CT
Ultrasound
Fluoroscopy
Digital Radiography
Accuray TomoTherapy System
Interventional Radiology Suite
This expansion will allow us to further elevate the standard of care while continuing to support a collaborative and innovative environment.
State-of-the-Art Tools for Better Care
To improve efficiency and reduce documentation fatigue, AVES is currently integrating VetREQ AI, a cutting-edge medical record assistance platform. This technology will help streamline case documentation, allowing our ER DVMs to spend less time on records and more time focused on patient care and collaboration. It’s just one of the many ways we’re investing in tools to support our team and enhance work-life balance.

Requirements
-DVM or VMD licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas.
-Active DEA license.
-Prior ER/hospitalist experience; internship training preferred.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
