- Maintenance Operator
Description
Under broad guidance, the Maintenance Operator is responsible for maintaining and repairing the treatment facility, completing the Apprenticeship Program, and performing other assignments as required.
Requirements
Education (Required)
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a Maintenance Operator Apprenticeship Trade program or equivalent as determined by an Apprenticeship Committee.
Experience (Required)
Completion of the on-the-job training skills portion of an Apprenticeship program for this trade, or approved equivalent as determined by an Apprenticeship Committee.
Training Levels
Grade 5: Fully qualified with experience and education as noted above.
Grade 5a: Successful completion of 22 academic courses and 66% of on-the-job training skills.
Grade 5b: Successful completion of 12 academic courses and 33% of on-the-job training skills.
Grade 5c: No experience required.
If assigned to a training level, progression toward the fully qualified level is required as a condition of appointment. Failure to progress may result in removal from the position.
Special Licenses (Desired)
Valid drivers license from state of residence.
Virginia Class I Wastewater Works Operator License.
