SUMMARY
The Employment Specialist/Staff Generalist is responsible for the engagement of members and The Meeting Place operations according to Clubhouse International philosophy. In collaboration with other staff and members, the Employment Specialist/Staff Generalist is responsible for assisting members with their participation in meaningful work, and meaningful relationships. They also assist members in developing employment opportunities and attaining vocational, educational goals.

SUPERVISION
Reports directly to the Executive Director & Program Supervisor.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
- Provide as much support as needed to assist members with employment goals – act as trainer, troubleshooter, follow-along support, benefits counselor, advocate and liaison with the employer for TE/SE position.
- Work side by side with members in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of The Meeting Place and the Clubhouse International Standards.
- Fosters an atmosphere of belief in all members’ ability to work.
- Conduct onsite job training and coverage for members in The Meeting Place Transitional Employment (TE) and Supportive Employment (SE) programs.
- Works cooperatively with members and staff in establishment and completion of unit goals for Work Structured Day component of The Meeting Place.
- Presents in a positive, professional manner at The Meeting Place, while on employment placement sites and at community functions.
- Participate in unit meetings twice daily, and weekly Community Meeting.
- Works cooperatively with other staff to provide rehabilitation services and demonstrates openness and flexibility in adapting to organizational and program changes as instructed by the Executive Director.
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Executive Director.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience in mental health services required.
- 1 year of Job Development experience required.
- Commitment to engage in philosophies and practices of The Meeting Place and Clubhouse International Standards.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and obtain approval for enrollment by The Meeting Place’s auto insurance carrier.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, creativity and belief in the wellness and the potential of every member.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pitch to employers in the community the functions of a Transitional Employment partnership opportunity
- Engage and coach members on job readiness and skills development
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals to provide the highest level of care and support to our clients
- Document information in a confidential manner in accordance with standard practice procedures
- Attend training, workshops, and meetings as required
SKILLS:
- Must be a team player with good communication skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, creativity and belief in the wellness and the potential of every member.
- Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Treats members and other staff with dignity and respect; always maintains confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
