PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Architect Cloud Solutions: Design scalable, secure, and high-performing systems using Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, Kubernetes Service).
-Database Architecture: Define relational database structures (SQL Server, Azure SQL Database), ensuring integrity, performance, and disaster recovery, with execution by vendors.
-Web Application Design: Develop architectures integrating front-end and back-end systems for insurance policy management, claims processing, and customer portals.
-System Optimization: Assess infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
-Collaboration & Oversight: Partner with outsourced IT vendors, operations, and security teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, APIs, and microservices.
-Compliance & Security: Ensure solutions meet insurance industry standards, data privacy laws, and cloud security best practices.
-Thought Leadership: Mentor stakeholders, review vendor deliverables, and keep current on emerging technologies to drive innovation.
-Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and presentations for stakeholders and partners.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
-5+ years in systems architecture or related roles, ideally in insurance or financial services.
-Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure as code (Terraform), cloud migration, and hybrid environments.
-Strong background in database design and optimization (SQL, data modeling).
-Experience with web application architectures (.NET, ASP.NET, REST APIs, microservices, Docker).
