Founded in 1984, Montana Ballet Company (MBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to enriching the lives of all people through dance. MBC serves the community through three core branches of programming:
The Academy – home to 400+ students receiving exceptional dance instruction.

Position Summary
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Montana Ballet Company’s mission by supporting a broad portfolio of fundraising activities. This position works closely with the General Manager and Artistic Director to assist in the execution of individual donor campaigns, grant applications and reporting, and special fundraising events.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about nonprofit work and the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
Individual Giving & Donor Relations
Support the implementation of annual fundraising campaigns.
Maintain donor database, ensuring accuracy and timely acknowledgment.
Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including thank-you letters, recognition, and events.
Assist with donor segmentation, tracking, and reporting.
Grants
Research prospective funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports.
Track grant deadlines and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Special Events
Provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising events.
Help coordinate silent auctions, sponsorships, and ticketing for events.
Serve as a liaison to volunteers and vendors involved in event planning and execution.
Communications & Marketing Support
Work with staff to support development-related content for newsletters, social media, and the website.
Support consistent donor messaging and branding across platforms.
Qualifications
Passion for the arts and belief in the mission of Montana Ballet Company.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Experience with donor management systems and/or CRM platforms.
Experience or interest in fundraising, grant writing, and/or nonprofit events.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic design or social media tools (helpful but not required).
