Location Profile:
Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.
Position Summary:
Level three: Level 3 mechanics work under minimal supervision, is able to perform all levels of repair and maintenance; expert in troubleshooting any mechanical repair or rebuild, expert in electrical and electronic diagnostic as well as repair and rebuild. Able to fix all types of equipment in the facility, expert in all facility repairs issues. Leader in maintenance department able to lead low level maintenance team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Perform repairs, modifications and/or improvements on machinery as instructed on work orders, following standard operating and safety procedures.
- Duties may involve pipe fitting; boiler making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- The ability to read and write English.
- An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
- Evidence of strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic blueprint reading competencies.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of machinery, including their design, uses, repairs and maintenance.
- Strong analytical abilities are particularly important for this job with on-the-job training.
Required Experience:
6+ years of experience.
Level of Education:
GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
