Clinical Cardiology Physician
The Cardiovascular Institute and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are seeking candidates for full-time faculty positions in clinical cardiology to develop varied consultative practiced within a growing and dynamic academic Division. All applicants must be board certified or eligible in Cardiology, as well as eligible for Commonwealth of Massachusetts medical licensure. Level 3 training in echocardiography is preferred. An academic teaching appointment at the level of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School (HMS) will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities will include outpatient consultations on the main campus of BIDMC and one of its nearby community sites, as well as attending on the cardiology inpatient services and the Cardiac Direct Access Center. The applicant is expected to be actively engaged in teaching fellows, residents medical students and nurse practitioners -in-training. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking to develop an academic career in consultative cardiology within a quaternary referral center model.
The department will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.
